“A fine Italian restaurant with magnificent water views could go by no better name than Porto Bello. It translates to “beautiful port,” an ideal description of their location on sterling harbor overlooking the Southold Bay… The menu which is all Italian with English translations offers something for everyone- from salads to pasta to veal, chicken and of course seafood. A delicious appetizer which is named for the restaurant is Funghi Porto Bello, grilled Porto Bello mushrooms served with roasted red peppers in a balsamic vinaigrette.”
